The determination of Fabric flat-setting by measurement of the bending recovery at low and medium curvatures, before and after wet treatment, is discussed. The degree, stability, and rating of flat-set obtained by the use of a Shirley bending-hysteresis Tester are described. Comparisons are made with visual assessments based on fabric replicates and with other objective assessments, such as crease-recovery.
