Gas phase basicity (GB) and proton affinity (PA) determinations by the thermokinetic method have been re-evaluated in the light of the new basicity scale. It is found that the thermokinetic method provides GB values with a precision better than ±3 kJ/mol. The following GB values are obtained: isobutene = 776.3; acetone = 782.1; ketene = 790.1; methylketene = 809.6; formaldimine = 929.7; vinylimine = 880.3; sulfine = 755.1 kJ/mol. Some discrepancies between the present results and the tabulated values are clarified.
