Hypothesis-generating for surgical salvage in refractory catheter-related infection; prospective studies needed before broader adoption.
Endocarditis and intracardiac infection have been increased recently especially in dialysis dependent renal failure patients. This is usually intractable infection to broad spectrum Antibiotic therapy and in most cases surgical intervention was necessary. We have presented 45 years old man with intracardiac infection at the tip of dialysis catheter that after catheter removal intracardiac infection was removed.

Hoseinikhah et al. (2017) conducted a case report in Intracardiac infection at the tip of hemodialysis catheter (n=1). Surgical removal of dialysis catheter and infected mass was evaluated on Clinical recovery and removal of infection. Surgical removal of the dialysis catheter and the infected right atrial mass successfully treated an intractable intracardiac infection in a 45-year-old man with end-stage renal disease.
