The solutions of an electrostatic shock associated with lower hybrid waves in a multi-component plasma have been presented. Conditions are obtained under which small amplitude electrostatic shock solutions can exist. The potential, the thickness and the velocity of the shock are calculated. The relevance of this investigation to space plasmas is discussed.
