The M\"ossbauer spectral intensity of ¹¹⁹Sn impurities in Pb with concentration of 5%, 2%, 1%, and 1/2% is measured as a function of temperature. A single narrow line is observed which slightly narrows as the temperature increases. Above a temperature Tc{}Tₘ, the bulk melting temperature, the M\"ossbauer integrated intensity drops precipitously from a Debye-Waller behavior. Analysis of the results shows that a small region around each Sn atom is in a state of relatively large entropy, suggesting a local behavior more similar to a liquid than a solid.
