Plant species have extensive variation among genotypes or cultivars for tolerating iron (Fe) deficiency chlorosis and Fe toxicity problems so common to many soils of the world. Taking advantage of these genotype differences to help solve Fe nutritional problems and to enhance the knowledge and understanding of plant Fe nutrition is natural and logical. Literature describing or documenting genotype differences within plant species is scattered. This article lists plant genotypes showing tolerance and susceptibility to Fe deficiency chlorosis and Fe toxicity and the references describing genotype differences.
