We present extensive configuration interaction calculations of probabilities of electric dipole transitions between all J-levels of 3s23p2, 3s23p4p, 3s3p3, 3s23p4s and 3s23p3d states in P II, from which lifetimes of these levels are determined. A number of reassignments of configuration labels are suggested. In particular, the 3s3p3 1D2 configuration does not dominate any state, being instead smeared out over the Rydberg series.
