Structurally stable 3D MoS2 architectures are achieved by a facile one step sulfiding process using MoO3 as precursor under a high concentration of sulfur. The Li-ion storage capability is significantly improved for 3D MoS2 architectures as they are superior in resisting volume change during the discharge/charge process as compared to MoS2 nanosheets.
