While 47% of couples were discontented with their frequency of intercourse, overall marital sexual adjustment after head injury was satisfactory. The authors concluded that, with counseling, marital sexual adjustment is a reasonable goal for head-injured patients and their spouses. For this reason, all members of the rehabilitation team should be educated and prepared to discuss sexual issues.
