Rudge and Seaton's theory of impact ionization is extended to ion-atom collisions. Calculations are carried out for the angular and energy distribution of electrons ejected from hydrogen atoms by high-energy protons. Our results differ appreciably from those of the conventional Born approximation when the ejected electron has a velocity close to that of the incident proton.
