In this article, the problem of pulsatile micropolar fluid flow through an elastic vessel has been studied. An arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation for the governing equations has been produced to model the fully coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and has been solved numerically using the finite difference scheme by exploiting a mesh generation technique leading to a uniformly spaced grid in the computational plane. This model is best for simulation of unsteady flows or the flow of many suspensions (e.g., blood cell dispersion in plasma through the arteries), without involving in difficulties of discrete cells modeling. The comparison with different experimental results for blood flow shows that this simulation error is just 3.1% versus the classical Newtonian model, which has an approximate 16% error. The magnitude of shear stress in the blood flow field is the main factor for increases in damage to the cells; the respective results have been presented as well.
