Abstract α-Nitroalkyl radicals generated from gem-halo nitro compounds are reactive enough to undergo the carbon–carbon bond forming reaction with allyltributylstannane via radical chain processes, which provides a new method for the introduction of an allyl group into nitroalkanes.
