I am a staff nurse in charge of an orthopaedic outpatient department. I am currently looking at my nursing staff establishment because over the past five years we have seen an increase of nearly 100 per cent in our patient numbers. I do not know if there are any guidelines on the ratio of nurses to patients in on outpatient setting. Any information anyone could give would be helpful.
