This patent application describes chiral oxazole-arylpropionic acid derivatives that are effective as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α/γ (PPARα/γ) dual agonists. Some of these compounds showed well-balanced affinity for both PPARα and PPARγ, as assessed by both binding and transactivation assays. The use of these compound(s) for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases which are mediated by PPARα and/or PPARγ, such as Type 2 diabetes, is claimed.
