Using a distorted-wave Born-approximation treatment which exactly includes recoil for the data from the reaction ¹²C(¹⁴N,¹³C)¹³N at E(¹⁴N)=78 MeV, we demonstrate the necessity for including recoil effects in calculations for single-nucleon-transfer reactions with heavy ions.
