Simulation study demonstrates enhanced gas and oil recovery in a condensate gas reservoir model, indicating that optimal injection parameters maximize both production and carbon storage.
This study aims to explore the feasibility of CO₂ geological sequestration in reducing the greenhouse effect during the efficient utilisation of CO₂. This article completed the analysis of the potential for hydrocarbon recovery by CO₂ injection, discussed the mechanisms of supercritical CO₂ geological storage with condensate gas reservoir development, and studied the feasibility of CO₂ enhanced condensate gas reservoir recovery with CO₂ storage based on the actual condensate gas reservoir geological model with numerical simulation technology. The results indicate that CO₂ injection enhances both gas and condensate oil recovery in the reservoir; there is an optimal CO₂ injection rate and injection location that makes the best production performance and maximizes the storage at the same time. The study results further enriched and developed the enhanced hydrocarbon recovery with CO₂ geological storage system theory and technology. This has further enabled progress from theoretical mechanisms to practical implementation.
