A 15-state R-matrix calculation has been carried out at 530 energies ranging from the n=2 threshold up to the n=5 threshold at 13.06 eV to map out the resonant profiles for the 1s-2p integral and differential excitation cross sections. The polarization of Lyman radiation, the angular distribution of spin asymmetry and the electron-photon coincident parameters are also calculated as functions of energy at fixed angles. They are found to be extremely sensitive to the presence of resonances. The calculations are compared with experiments whenever possible. This paper suggests that normalization of experimental cross sections at low energy should be explored as information extracted from the studies on resonant phenomena could be useful to gauge the quality and sensitivity of the experimental system.
