Oligomeric products of the anionic polymerization of phenylpropiolonitrile were separated by elution chromatography on calcium hydroxide. The separation occurs not only according to the molecular weight, but mainly due to the cis‐trans‐isomerism. Four isomeric trimers were found among the isolated fractions, which demonstrated the polymerization to be non‐stereospecific.
