Interactions between conventional medicine and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) remedies are well recognised but surgeons rarely consider this potential hazard prior to an operation. This report alerts surgeons to the possibility of CAM interacting with clotting mechanisms but also acknowledges that some complementary treatments might support patients during the peri‐operative period.
