In the present study, methods for determining sex and age ratios have been developed for the raccoon, mink, red fox, gray fox, striped skunk, and badger. (Similar methods more recently have been found applicable in the coyote, ringtail, spotted skunk, and marten with a strong probability that they also will apply in many other fur species.) Previously described sex and age determination methods are discussed for the muskrat and long-tailed weasel. Information on the opossum is being published elsewhere (Petrides 1949a).
