Synthesis of [16,16,16,16′,16′,16′ 2H6]Lycopene Lycopene having at both ends the deuteriated methyl groups trans to the chain has been synthesized for further biochemical experiments aimed to elucidate the stereochemistry of the cyclization step. Incidentally a gas‐chromatographic separation of the isotopisomers 1 and 2g has been observed.
