A Pound-Knight-Watkins marginal oscillator has been modified by the addition of a vibrating capacitor in parallel with the tuning capacitor to produce a simple circuit which may be used to observe paramagnetic resonance at low fields, nuclear magnetic resonance, and nuclear quadrupole resonance. Suggestions are made as to the type of information which may be obtained in an undergraduate laboratory experiment. Research that can be done in smaller colleges with the instrument is discussed.
