By means of additive group contribution, the enthalpy of formation and the Gibbs free energy of formation of C60 and C70 fiillerenes as well as of carbyne isomers have been estimated. A summary of calculated and experimental enthalpies of formation of five carbon allotropes have been reported. The allotropes studied are graphite, diamond, C6o and C70 fullerenes and α=and =β- carbynes.
