The even magneto-optical modulation of the transmitted light by Ni epitaxial films has been measured for the first time, and the detected light modulation is strongly dependent on the crystal orientation. A comparative study of even magneto-optical effects in polycrystalline Ni at Voigt configuration in the reflected and transmitted light is also reported. The experimental results are discussed in terms of recent electron energy band calculations. The even magneto-optical spectra previously reported for Fe and Co are also discussed.
