During the period of January, 1969, to July, 1975, 125 fishermen were admitted as emergencies to the Gilbert Bain Hospital, Lerwick. They were crew members from trawlers and drifters fishing in the waters around Shetland. Their diagnoses are listed and discussed and certain prophylactic measures are recommended.
