SUMMARYTo determine the distribution of cellulose in the cell wall of members of the genera Ceratocystis and Europhium, a qualitative investigation of 47 species of the former and four of the latter was undertaken. Cell walls of each species were examined cytochemically and using X-ray diffraction analysis. Evidence for the presence of cellulose in the cell walls was obtained in 31 of 47 species of Ceratocystis and in four species of Europhium, based on cytochemical and X-ray data.
