Functionalized polypropenes have been synthesized to be used as coupling agents at the glass fiber/polypropene interface. In this first part, the cocrystallization of the coupling agents and the matrix is studied on the one hand by DSC and WAXS, and on the other hand by a Monte-Carlo simulation. The coupling agents' required characteristics for cocrystallization with the matrix are discussed.
