A low loss and low crosstalk single-mode wavelength division multi/demultiplexer was successfully fabricated by embedding an interference filter in each output arm of a fused taper coupler. The insertion loss was around 1.5dB at the wavelengths of 1.3μm and 1.55μm, and both near-end and far-end crosstalks were less than −50 dB.
