Design and Synthesis of a New pH Sensitive Polymeric Sensor Using Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer

A new pH sensor molecule, a sulfonamide polymer having fluorophores at both ends, shows a robust on-and-off characteristic in the efficiency of fluorescence resonance energy transfer owing to the sharp conformational transition of sulfonamide polymeric linker from the coil state to the globular state.
