Adoption of a simple crystal counter technique has made possible a study of carrier mobilities in organic molecular crystals. The results give a mean value of 0.48 cm2/V·sec for the mobility of holes in anthracene in the low-field region. The data indicate that study of pulse rise times at high electric field strengths will provide information on charge-carrier scattering mechanisms in these materials.
