The FeSO 4 G-value for a therapy beam of 14 MeV neutrons from a DT generator has been measured, using a polythene-ethylene ion chamber for basic dosimetry. The result for the mixed neutron plus gamma -ray beam is 9.8+or-0.6, and after correction for the measured 15% gamma -ray component the G-value for the neutron component alone is 8.9+or-0.6. Dose rates are between 10 and 20 rad min -1 and total doses between 200 and 600 rad.
