A tight linkage was discovered between two seedling mutants in early-flowering forms of turnip rape Brassica campestris L. A green hypocotyl mutant, allelic to the previously reported a-2 gene, was found to be linked to a mutant characterized by wrinkled leaves and jagged petal margins, jp. The jp gene is an addition to linkage group I. The utilization of these two mutants for instructional purposes is discussed.
