We have prepared amorphous Co87Fe2Nb11 films by rf sputtering. The effect of various deposition parameters on the properties have been studied. An in-plane field of 900 Oe was applied in the film plane during the film deposition in order to obtain samples with a well-defined easy in-plane axis with very little dispersion. Under optimal conditions we get Hc=0.1 Oe and HA=15 Oe. The magnetization amounts to 11 kG. The FMR spectra show standing spin waves and D has been calculated to be 300 meV A2. Increasing rf power and argon pressure lead to an increase in Hc and HA.
