In a recent report1 the author described the isolation of a colloidal carbohydrate from Ascaris lumbricoides (of swine) which gave immunological reactions in animals artificially immunized with homologous whole worm material. This substance was found to be immunologically specific with respect to a similar fraction isolated from Monezia expansa. Other helminths were not available at the time of the previous publication, but have since been secured in sufficient quantities to make a study of the immunological specificity of such polysaccharide fractions from seven different forms.
