In the previous paper, we proposed a methodology for studying the potential effects of compressibility on a twisted assembly. The approach was to assume that an individual yarn could be approximated in compression by a single element with an elliptical cross section. In a similar manner, one can study an assembly that is primarily two-dimensional in nature – a woven fabric composed of interlaced three-dimensional yarns. For demonstration purposes, we will use the basic plain weave pattern.
