Case report reveals mediastinal gray zone lymphoma with a germline TET2 mutation in a pediatric patient, highlighting substantial therapeutic challenges.
Mediastinal gray zone lymphoma (MGZL) is a rare, predominantly adult hematologic malignancy with pathologic features of both primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBL) and classical Hodgkins lymphoma (cHL) [ 1 ].Overlapping pathologic features make MGZL diagnostically challenging.Additionally, treatment regimens are poorly defined given rarity and aggressive clinical course.Adult MGZL is usually managed with PMBLstyle chemotherapy, yet with significantly worse outcomes than PMBL and cHL [ 2,3 ].For relapsed disease, definitive therapy is autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant (aHSCT) [ 4 ].
