Simulation study demonstrates real-time collision avoidance for autonomous vessels in dynamic maritime environments, suggesting viable applications for intelligent marine transport.
This work presents the development of an autonomous navigation system for ships, designed to detect and avoid obstacles in real-time within a simulated two-dimensional maritime environment. A proximity detection algorithm was implemented using the Pygame library, allowing the ship to automatically adjust its trajectory and avoid collisions with static or moving objects. Additionally, a simulated ship motion model and a particle system were included to represent the direction and maritime environment in a more realistic way. This system has practical applications in autonomous navigation simulations, control in telemetry systems, and intelligent maritime transportation solutions.
