In this article we present the development of two original planar microwave active filters that use GaAs monolithic technology. We analyze and compare these two microwave active filter structures. The filters have the same MMIC chips, and have a feedback or are cascaded with microstrip planar resonators to compensate for active filter losses. For the second circuit a new efficient and original solution is proposed to tune the resonance frequency of a passive ring resonator.
