Analytic expressions are obtained for Coulomb and exchange terms in inert-gas potentials, incorporating the appropriate asymptotic behaviour. The author has also deduced suitable damping factors for the van der Waals terms. This allows one to obtain accurate values for the position and depth of the minimum potential as well as potentials over a wide range of separations.
