Mesoionic 3-aryl-4-bromo sydnone has been studied at glassy carbon electrode in non-aqueous media and its derivatives in aqueous media under different acidic conditions using cyclic voltammetric technique. Effect of cathodic peak potential (Epc) and cathodic peak current (ipc) has been discussed. The effect of sweep rate, concentration, pH, substituents and solvents have been evaluated. The overall electrode processes were shown to be diffusion controlled. The cationic and non-ionic surfactants were inhibited the reduction process. The effect of these surfactants on Epc and ipc has been discussed. The electrolytic products were characterized by controlled potential electrolysis.
