Intracollection and intercollection crosses between single‐spore isolates were carried out for Hypholoma brunnea, Pleurotopsis longinqua , and Pleurotus rattenburyi . All three species were found to be governed by bifactorial mating systems, and intercollection matings within each species proved compatible. Basidiome descriptions are furnished for P. longinquus and P. rattenburyi .
