The effect of hardening loss by the wedge-shaped twins is studied experimentally. This effect consists of additional displacement of twin boundaries under the repeated cycles of loading within the same stress range. A quantitative description of the behaviour of mechanical twins under the loading is proposed. A formula for the numerical estimation of the value of the effect described above is obtained, which agrees with experimental data within error about 30%.
