A planar miniaturized UWB dual‐polarization multiple‐input‐multiple‐output slot antenna

A planar miniaturized ultra‐wideband (UWB) dual‐polarization multiple‐input‐multiple‐output (MIMO) slot antenna is presented in this article. Two orthogonal microstrip lines are utilized to feed antenna, which can excite both orthogonal modes in two orthogonal‐stepped slots to realize dual‐polarization characteristics. Two orthogonal‐stepped slots are its main radiators. The overall size of the presented antenna is only 32 × 22 × 0.8 mm3. The antenna was built and measured. The measurement of common –10 dB impedance bandwidth reaches 7.56 GHz (110.7%, 3.05‐10.61 GHz). Port isolation is greater than 18 dB over the entire working band. The radiation patterns and gains are stable over the whole working band.
