The efficacy and effectiveness of programs designed to improve the growth and development of children was recently reviewed by the World Health Organization, Division of Child and Adolescent Health.The review report has been edited by WHO for distribution to a wide audience of practitioners, as well as investigators, and will be available shortly.The concluding section is reproduced below.The review involved the participation of a multi-disciplinary team consisting primarily of nutritional epidemiologists, anthropologists, and psychologists working together in a project that was directed by Gretel H. Pelto.
