The changing role of the library director: Fund-raising and the academic library

With increased costs and decreased funding, it will be increasingly necessary for library directors to become hevily involved in fun-raising, or development. As the role of the director changes, he/she will need to acquire nontraditional knowledges and skills, and must simultaneously ensure that the library is operating smoothly.
