The effective elastic constants of porous materials are calculated on the assumption that spherical pores are dispersed uniformly, and are compared with observed values of BaTiO 3 ceramics sintered at different temperatures. The agreement of the calculations with the experiments is not very good, and the form factors of pores are discussed.
