The electron spin resonance spectrum of Cu 2+ in NH 4 F was observed between 77 and 300 K. No evidence was found of a lambda transition in NH 4 F. The spin Hamiltonian parameters at 77 K were g x =2.0771, g y =2.1040 and g z =2.4702 with the hyperfine parameters all less than 4*10 -4 cm -1 . These parameters suggest that Cu 2+ is in a tetrahedral site. Expressions obtained for the possible ground states suggest that the E"(B 2 ) state is lowest.
