The incidence and prevalence ofPPS are unknown in the world and in Brazil, depending on thediagnostic criteria. The diagnosis of PPS is made by exclusionand there is no specific laboratory test, these only help to ruleout other diseases. There is no curative treatment for PPS. Itsetiology remains unknown.
