Demonstrates preoperative echocardiographic diagnosis of a ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm into the right ventricle, highlighting noninvasive identification of congenital cardiac defects.
The preoperative diagnosis of an aneurysm of the right coronary sinus of Valsalva with rupture into the right ventricle was made by echocardiography in a patient who also had a small ventricular septal defect. An abnormal echo, the aneurysmal sac, was seen in the right ventricular outflow tract anterior to the defect in the anterior aortic root.
