A conduction model is proposed to account for the doping effects (diminution of the apparent resitivity and activation energy, over-ohmic current–voltage characteristics) observed in chloranil-trimethylamine C.T. complex when exposed to trimethylamine vapour. It was assumed that electrons are transferred between impurity centres formed by chloranil anion-radicals by jumping over and/or by tunneling through the potential barriers between them. The contribution from the two mechanisms depends on the doping level.
